Crosswordlion.com is an online platform to play crosswords in various languages and topics. A player may create their own crosswords and host a competition online.

Supporting Languages 

Crossword Lion is starting with English and a few Indian languages. The site is targeting to support all major Indian Languages. Rules for making crosswords in each language may differ. kindly refer to the respective blogs.

Event

An event is a collection of crosswords. An event has a set of crosswords, a leaderboard to display top performing players, and optional organizers/team members.

Any user may create an event and add crosswords to the event. And may add team members for verification and approval.

Event Team 

The player who created the event is known as the Event Owner (aka EO).  EO may add other players as team members for this event. They can add their crosswords (of the same language) to the event. EO may assign another team member for verifying the crosswords and get the crosswords approved. EO may themself approve the crosswords as well. 

A team member may add their crosswords to this event. Once added to the event, it can't be withdrawn from the event,   until EO permits.

Crosswords

Any user may create a new crossword on the supported language on a standard size. (9x9, 11x11, 13x13, 15x15)

A crossword must be a part of an event. It must have a scheduled start date and time. Optionally an approver can be assigned.

Play Support, Lifelines

Players may check the correctness of the answers in the middle of the game. Keep in mind that the system will allow you to see the score only after you reach a certain level of correctness. For example, you should reach 50% of the correct answers to start seeing the wrong answers you have entered. You may ask for a lifeline to reveal 3 correct cells.  Kindly refer to respective blogs to find more details.

Leaderboards

Players will get points on the successful completion of each crossword. Cumulative scores for each crossword and referral point policy will be considered to find the top players for that event.

Premium Subscription 

Premium subscription payment is required to participate in premium events or crosswords. A yearly premium subscription is specified on the respective pages if any.

Revenue Sharing with Crossword Content Creators 

If your crosswords or events are marked by premium category, you are eligible for revenue sharing based on the player's engagement with your crosswords. 

Creating a crossword

- Content must be yours or copyright free.

- Follow the rules to make the crosswords to get it approved for premium standards.

- Avoid wrong answers and reduce tough clues so that more players will like your crosswords and show interest in your event.

Reporting 

Users may report the content of any crossword on copyright policy violation,  violation of any rules by other players, etc to the respective contact address. CrosswordLion.com has the authority to take appropriate actions based on the investigation and conclusions.

Banning 

Users may get banned from further creating crosswords or starting an event or playing the crosswords, if they are found guilty of a violation of any rules, copyright policy, etc.

You may add comments about each crossword and event on the respective forums. Avoid giving direct answers in the comment section. Always give another clue to help the player.
